I refer to my students as clients because “student” for my professional clients sounds a little demeaning. My work at the professional level is a dialogue. We all need trusted, outside ears and eyes. The work of a professional singer is as challenging as it is fulfilling. You, the singer, are in charge of your path. I am a guide in vocal technique and as part of your team, a source of advice in navigating your career. The relationship between a voice teacher and a student is both a business arrangement and a personal relationship. Having someone work with your voice is a very personal thing, and requires trust, which must be built from the first lesson.
